If you are planning to work, obtain a residence visa, or complete employment-related formalities in the UAE and your educational qualification was obtained outside the UAE, you may be required to have your qualification officially recognised by the UAE authorities.
The UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR) provides a service for the recognition of qualifications obtained from educational institutions outside the UAE. The service verifies the authenticity of the qualification and whether the awarding institution was appropriately accredited, allowing the qualification to be used for relevant professional, academic, employment, visa, residency, and government procedures.
Process flow
Step 1 – The applicant begins the process online and selects one of the Ministry's approved verification partners.
Step 2 – Select one of the Ministry's accredited/approved partners to conduct the required qualification verification.
Step 3 – Provide the required information and upload the necessary documents.
The verification partner will undertake the qualification verification process and may contact the awarding university/institution to confirm the authenticity of the qualification.
Step 4 – Once the qualification verification is completed, the applicant receives an email containing a link to proceed with the MOHESR recognition application.
Step 5 – The applicant should carefully review the information before proceeding to payment of the MOHESR recognition report fee.
Step 6 – After the application has been reviewed and approved, it will take minimum 18 to 22 working days, subject to approval.
The verification/approved partner may contact the awarding institution to verify the qualification. Applicants should therefore be prepared to provide additional academic or supporting documents if requested.
If you have obtained your degree or other higher-education qualification outside the UAE and are currently processing UAE visa or employment-related matters, it is advisable to check whether qualification recognition is required for your specific case.
