Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Internal Auditor with a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience to support Internal Audit and Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICOFR) assignments. The ideal candidate will have experience working in Oil & Gas, Energy, Metal & Mining, or Manufacturing sectors and possess a strong understanding of the relevant regulatory frameworks and internal controls.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting audits, assessing internal controls, and ensuring the organization’s financial reporting processes comply with regulatory and corporate standards.
Your opportunity
- Internal Audits: Lead and perform risk-based internal audits across various business functions (finance, operations, compliance, IT, etc.) in alignment with the organization’s audit plan.
- ICOFR Assessments: Assist in the evaluation and testing of internal controls over financial reporting (ICOFR) to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), IFRS, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Risk & Control Evaluations: Identify, assess, and evaluate risks and controls within business processes, financial reporting, and operational activities. Provide recommendations for mitigating any identified gaps.
- Control Testing: Test the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting. Assist in the preparation of documentation supporting ICOFR evaluations.
- Audit Reporting: Prepare clear and concise audit reports outlining findings, risk assessments, and recommendations for improvement. Present findings to management and key stakeholders.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving internal processes and strengthening internal controls to improve efficiency and mitigate risks.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., Finance, Legal, Operations) to ensure that internal controls are robust and that identified risks are managed effectively.
- Training & Development: Contribute to the development and training of junior auditors by providing guidance and sharing knowledge on internal controls and audit methodologies.
Key qualification & experience
- Professional Qualification: Primary Qualification (must have) - Chartered Accountant/ ACCA/ CFA/ CPA. Additional qualifications (good to have) - CIA/ CFE/ CISA/ DISA etc.
- Post-Qualification Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in Internal Audit and ICOFR assignments, preferably within Oil & Gas, Energy, Metal & Mining, or Manufacturing sectors.
- Audit Knowledge: Solid understanding of internal audit processes, risk management, and internal control frameworks such as COSO, SOX, IFRS, and industry-specific regulations.
- ICOFR Expertise: Experience with ICOFR testing, risk assessments, and understanding of financial reporting requirements under regulatory frameworks like Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
- Technical Skills: Proficient in audit tools, data analytics software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Knowledge of ERP systems like SAP is an advantage.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present audit findings to senior management
