Responsibilities 

  • Coordinate with the audit team to complete assigned complex assignments and group engagements within established timelines. Ensure that tasks are delegated appropriately. Monitor project efficiency and ensure timely billings and collections. Conduct a first-level review of complex financial statements for allocated assignments in accordance with IFRS.
  •  Take responsibility for understanding key statistics and industry matters related to the entity before engagement begins. This includes consulting with team members and reviewing prior year financial statements, including the enhanced audit report and audit documentation. Organise and lead preliminary meetings with clients within the allocated portfolio. Effectively manage differing viewpoints to build consensus, promote collaboration, and create a positive work environment for all team members. Appropriately sign off on work performed and reviewed. Understand the client's requirements in detail, organise ideas logically, and present thoughts rationally and confidently.
  •  Prepare and review documentation by anticipating questions that reviewers may ask, ensuring it includes conclusions, relevant facts, analyses, authoritative literature references, and professional judgments made. Document objectivity, independence, and continuance decisions, verifying that sufficient inquiries have been made and that all information has been recorded. Ensure staff assigned to the engagement possess adequate technical and industry knowledge for their respective areas. Prepare and review reports, communicate findings and recommendations to the client, and reach agreements with them. Actively participate in presentations to the Audit Committee, Board of Directors, or those charged with governance. Lead the closing meetings for client audits. Perform appraisals or Support the Manager/ Director in performing appraisals for team members assigned to the engagement. 
  • Encourage team members to take ownership of their own personal development. Address difficult issues and conflicts openly and directly.

Experience & Education

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in auditing with leading professional services firms or large multinational organisations
  • Experience auditing insurance clients (both life and non-life) in the UAE - IFRS 17 experience is a must
  • A degree in Business, Accounting, or related field
  • A proven track record of managing engagements successfully. Fluent in English (Reading, Speaking and Writing)
  • CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent is must
